Adoption Fees

Unfortunatelynot much in life is free!

(except for the love, purrs and tailwags you get from your adopted furry friend)

Усім українським благодійним організаціям із захисту тварин доводиться витрачати багато готівки на кожному етапі процесу від порятунку до щасливого будинку назавжди.

In Ukraine, life is pretty bleak at the moment.

Here are some statistics to keep in mind as you look at the costs of animal rescue in Ukraine:

  • The minimum wage is approximately 137 EUR PER MONTH (2023 figures).
  • Yes, some people earn more, but 50% of the population earns less than 500 EUR per month.
  • Due to the war, the current unemployment rate is approximately 20%.
  • And keep in mind that just because you have a job does not mean that you will get your wages, you might get a part payment, no payment or full wage but in a few months, all because of the chaos of war.
  • To rent a room in an average apartment in Kyiv costs approximately 180 EUR per month plus utility bills
  • An 8kg bag of reasonable quality kibble for your feline friend costs 25 EUR and an average vet visit is usually about 40 EUR (Nov 2023)

So now that you're armed with this knowledge let's have a look at the costs of animal rescue in Ukraine. The graphics below show you what animal rescue charities in Ukraine spend on an average rescue animal that is NOT a 'complex case'. (2023 prices surveyed across the regions our partner organisations operate in)

How much do you charge for adoption?

We don't charge as we're NOT a business but we do ask you to donate to cover the costs incurred by the Ukrainian partner charity. It would be highly unethical not to do so. It is the right thing to do.

The process of preparing your dog or cat for legal adoption is long and complex. Please have a look at our Adoption Process page.

The donation to cover the costs for DOGS is:

The donation to cover the costs for CATS is:
