They are undergoing veterinary treatment for a huge variety of reasons. Some are seriously poorly (may even have life-threatening or life-changing illnesses or injuries), some need treatment following an operation or for a non-life threatening illness from which they will hopefully soon recover, and some simply need just a little extra care for a while.
Our rescue partners deal with a huge range of ER challenges from dogs with injuries caused by enemy bombs or getting shot, amputations, and serious life-threatening illnesses such as Parvo (which leads to challenges with isolation of puppies and bio-security measures to protect the other animals) to illnesses caused by ticks, infected wounds from fighting, starvation and so on.
Some of the dogs shown in this section will be adoptable in the near, mid-term or long-term future. Some won't make it! But that won't stop our incredible partners from trying.
If you are interested in giving one of these brave dogs a forever home when they recover, head to the So You Want to Adopt Page for more information.
